Meet the Bear Valley

Academy Team

Our highly-qualified teachers and staff are what set us apart and make us a wonderful, safe place for your child to learn and play! As a State-licensed facility, our staff members have current FBI fingerprinting and background checks, pediatric CPR and First-Aid training, and are required to complete at least 24 hours of relevant continuing education each year - including child abuse recognition and prevention. All staff receive training in infectious control measures related to COVID-19. Our experienced Pre-Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten teachers hold degrees in
Early Childhood Education.

Director

I cannot even begin to tell you how fortunate I was to have found Bear Valley Academy as a parent back in 2016. This gem-of-a-school has been a huge part of my family’s life, and I am so fortunate to lead this amazing team of teachers and staff!

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce in Early Childhood Education. Before taking time to stay home with my children, I spent my days in my own classroom in Wylie ISD. There is nothing like seeing that “light bulb moment” when a child figures out a new concept – something to add to their “toolbox.” There is no greater joy! I am passionate about play and children learning through the experiences of touching, moving, listening, and observing – while having endless ways and opportunities to express themselves.

Early education and high-quality care is an essential building block of a child's future success. A positive early learning experience can lay the foundation for future feelings about school and can foster the love of learning to create a lifelong learner.

I have seen the impact preschool has had on my own children and many other students who I have crossed paths with. My mission is for your child to enter our doors each day feeling welcomed, loved, affirmed, and to be continuously growing.

Assistant Director

My family began attending Bear Valley Community Church (BVCC) in October 2016, and we were quickly embraced as part of the family. We had found our church home! Before joining BVCC, my family had searched long and far for the “perfect” place to send our oldest daughter to preschool. For us, the ideal preschool program would be one where she could excel academically, be nurtured, socialize freely, be part of the community, and most importantly, where we would feel safe sending her. Little did we know that when God brought us through the doors at BVCC, it would also include a plan for the ideal preschool. We found that in Bear Valley Academy.

Our daughter still comes home excited each day to tell us about the adventures she’s had, art she’s made, fun times she’s had with her friends, and all the things she’s learned that day. I have seen real growth in her maturity as well as in her language and motor skills. She looks forward to her school days, and learning new material from her wonderful teachers.

Once again I was clueless as to God’s continued plan for my family at Bear Valley because I had an amazing opportunity to join the staff as a teacher in the Baby Blue Room in 2018. As of December 2018, and I was given the great honor and responsibility as the Assistant Director at Bear Valley Academy.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas. I am so blessed to be able to serve in this role and love watching BVA grow and succeed through our families and staff.

The experience I have had with Bear Valley Academy is amazing. They are always keeping me up to date with my son's progress and needed areas of improvement. They have taken my quiet, shy little boy and helped mold him into a confident, curious child that is excited to learn something new everyday. Some of what has been taught to my child to prepare him for kindergarten is spelling and writing his colors and his name, reading sight words, recognizing his numbers to 100 and beyond, the days of the week, months of the year and recognizing as well as signing the alphabet. He wants to read everything! She also projects high moral standards and teaches manners as well as respect for self and others. My son is well prepared for his school ahead thanks to his teacher and all the staff. I am so pleased we attended this school and so will you!"
