Why 4 Days?

Kindergarten

Education through Partnership

All learning is built through the foundation of relationship.

What We Believe About Education Partnership

We believe in partnering with our students' families in education for the whole-child - including social-emotional, spiritual, and academic development,

A child's foundation for learning doesn't just begin when they enter the school building, but is built through their home and family life as well. In partnering with you, we are able to create an individualized learning environment for your child. This enables our program to serve our student community with excellence without taking away from the invaluable time a child can spend with their family.

"Children learn best through their everyday experiences with the people they love and trust and when the learning is fun. These interactions serve as modeling behaviors and create the basis for learning over the course of a child’s life. As you and your child bond, they instinctively learn how to establish a healthy sense of self and how to be in a loving, empathetic relationship." (The Urban Child Institute)

Our program's goals are to build character values, encourage leadership, grow the child in their relationship with God, and challenge them academically. We believe these are best achieved side-by-side with the primary influence of their family.

What is an Extension Day?

An extension day may look different for each child. Sometimes an extension day could look like meeting your BVA friends at the zoo, or it could be the teacher sending home an innovative project to complete with your family. Maybe there is an area where the student needs extra attention and there are activities to complete to help guide them towards mastery. Has your child excelled in a particular skill? Wants to dive into a special topic? Let's expand and explore!  Maybe it's a simple day of reading together at the park.

Teachers work in an individualized manner, in partnership with the family, to provide an emergent concept for extension days throughout the school year.

Through these practices, we are able to meet the needs of our students and help them achieve their academic goals without the rigorous schedule of a traditional school setting. We believe returning the gift of time back to the family is the most important aspect of a child's life.

Monday through Thursday are our in school days while Fridays are at-home extension days for our BVA Kindergarten students.
